Make Deployment a Community Event

January 20, 2017

As I watched Florence School District 1 in Florence, S.C. kick off their first one-to-one deployment, I could not help but think that this is what it is all about.  They not only made the deployment about the devices, they made it about the community.

The deployment started at 4:30 in the afternoon to allow working parents to be a part of the celebration and program.  The event was complete with music pumping, balloons flying, a photo station, cheerleaders, popcorn, drinks, and much more.

The deployment went great.  The students were excited.  The parents were thrilled to be a part.  The school and its employees were proud.  The district and the administration were glad they made the decision to move forward with one-to-one.

As I stood there and watched the dancing, the laughing, and the smiles, I thought to myself  this is how it should be.
